GenCyber LogoAlexandria GenCyber is a 5-day camp for high school and middle school students. The academy is funded through a grant from the National Security Agency and National Science Foundation, making it free of charge for participants.

Experienced high school and college faculty will lead students through lessons and interactive cybersecurity activities throughout the camp. The program will focus on cybersecurity concepts and cover a number of topics including:

  • Cybersecurity introduction and online safety
  • Hardware, operating systems, and programming
  • Networking, cryptography, and securing data
  • Ethical hacking
  • Computer careers and concepts review

GenCyber Intro Camp

July 22-26, 2024 | 9:00 am to 4:00 pm daily
Hybrid: On-Campus or Virtual

Intended for students in grades 7-12 who have not attended a previous GenCyber camp. Students don't need to have any computer knowledge, but do need an interest in technology and cybersecurity. Student activities include working with computer hardware, learning Python and Linux programming, learning about cyber threats and safe practices, and cybersecurity careers. Students will work in teams where more advanced students are paired with beginner students so all can learn and have fun. Pre- and post-camp activities also included. Limited to 20 on-campus and 20 online students.
