Each year, the Legendary Employees of the Year awards honor two people who go above and beyond—not just doing their job well, but transforming how we work, connect, and serve our students here at Alexandria Technical and Community College. This year’s recipients do exactly that…and more.

Nichole is often working behind the scenes, but her impact is highly visible across our campus, our community, and even across the country.

Here's what Jeremy Scribner, IT Department, had to say about Nichole's impact on the college:

"She's built relationships across teams, divisions, and external partners—creating a strong foundation of trust and shared purpose. Her work touches nearly every department, yet she always makes time to collaborate, brainstorm, and lift up others. Her creativity turns small sparks of ideas into full-blown campaigns, projects, and initiatives that connect with people in meaningful ways. She's been a driving force behind growing the visibility of our college and reshaping the way we show up in the world."

Jeremiah Swor, Instructor of Biology and Chemistry at ATCC, said:

Here are some of the accolades that Jeremiah shared about Faculty of the Year Award winner Kevin Huwe:

• He is absolutely passionate about his profession, spending days, evenings, and weekends supporting ATCC.
• He goes above and beyond to help students in need over the years and regularly helps students through life events, securing housing, employment, and food.
• He helps students not only prepare for a career but also with countless soft skills and life lessons.
• He has built strong relationships with community and industry partners. He has worked to receive countless grants and scholarships, including $300k for students.
